Reclaim & Restore Limited: Breathing Life Into Forgotten Pieces

We're transforming how people live in Sai Ying Pun lofts through thoughtfully curated vintage furniture and sustainable design. Every piece we select tells a story. Every restoration honors that history.

Our Story

How Reclaim & Restore Limited Started

We didn't start with a business plan. We started with frustration. Finding quality, authentic vintage pieces in Hong Kong felt impossible—everything was either too expensive or compromised in quality.

The Beginning (2019)

We began sourcing overlooked furniture from estate sales, warehouse clearances, and private collections. Instead of flipping pieces quickly, we invested time in proper restoration. We've trained with traditional craftspeople to understand authentic upholstery, wood finishing, and structural repair. Today, we don't just restore—we revive.

Why Loft Living Matters

Sai Ying Pun lofts are special. Industrial bones. High ceilings. Raw character. But they're unforgiving spaces—cold concrete, echoing acoustics, harsh light. That's where vintage furniture becomes essential. It's not decoration. It's what makes a raw loft feel like home. We've worked with over 150 loft residents to understand exactly what works.

Sustainability Isn't Marketing

Every piece we restore diverts waste from landfills. Every fabric choice considers environmental impact. We don't greenwash. We partner with suppliers who can prove their practices. When clients choose a restored 1970s sofa over a new one, they're avoiding manufacturing emissions and chemical processing. That matters.

Our Approach to Design & Restoration

We're not interior designers. We're not minimalists. We're people who believe that living well means surrounding yourself with objects that have weight, history, and authenticity.

Selection & Sourcing

We're picky. Brutally picky. We examine every joint, every finish, every detail before bringing a piece in. Is the structure sound? Can it be restored without destroying original character? Will it work in a modern loft? If we're unsure about any answer, we walk away.

Once selected, pieces undergo full assessment—structural repair, wood analysis, upholstery evaluation. We don't rush restoration. Some pieces take 8-12 weeks in our workshop.

What Drives Us

Our values aren't aspirational. They're operational. They show up in every decision, every sourcing trip, every client conversation.

Craftsmanship

We respect the original makers. When we restore, we preserve their intent. We use period-appropriate techniques and materials where possible. A 1960s Danish chair deserves Danish methods, not shortcuts.

Sustainability

Buying vintage is the most sustainable choice. It extends product life, avoids new manufacturing, and reduces landfill impact. We track the environmental benefit of every restoration.

Transparency

You'll know exactly what you're getting. We document restoration processes, disclose any structural repairs, explain upholstery choices. No mystery. No hidden damage reports.

Place-Based Design

One-size-fits-all doesn't work in lofts. We listen to your space—its light, its acoustics, its bones. Then we find pieces that genuinely belong there, not pieces that photograph well.

Authenticity

We don't sell reproduction vintage. We don't create artificial patina. What you get is the real thing—original era, original craftsmanship, honestly restored.

Education

We want you to understand what you're buying. We teach clients how to care for pieces, what makes certain eras special, how to mix periods in a loft without visual chaos.

Our Growth & Experience

From a small sourcing operation to a full restoration studio, here's how Reclaim & Restore Limited has evolved.

1

2019: Sourcing Begins

Started with estate sales and private collection acquisitions across Hong Kong. First client was a friend in a Sai Ying Pun loft who needed a statement sofa. That one project led to three more.

2

2020: Workshop Setup

Opened our first restoration workshop. Hired experienced upholsterers and wood finishers. Started documenting our process. Quality skyrocketed when we weren't rushing between jobs.

3

2021-2022: Specialization

Realized our expertise was in mid-century modern and industrial pieces—the perfect match for loft aesthetics. Narrowed our sourcing focus. Deepened relationships with collectors and estate agents.

4

2023-Present: Consultation & Design

We're not just selling pieces anymore. We're helping clients envision entire loft transformations. We've completed styling projects for 47 residential lofts. We understand how vintage pieces integrate with modern life in these spaces.

Why Sai Ying Pun

This neighborhood isn't just our location—it's our home and the heart of our work. We understand Sai Ying Pun lofts because we live in them, work in them, and restore pieces specifically for them.

Our Studio & Workspace

Our restoration workshop is based in Sai Ying Pun. We're embedded in this community. We know the building layouts, the light conditions, the architectural quirks. We've sourced from local estates, worked with local craftspeople, and built relationships with residents here.

When you work with Reclaim & Restore Limited, you're working with people who genuinely understand your loft's potential. Not theoretically. Practically.

We're committed to proving that vintage furniture and sustainable design aren't luxury choices—they're smarter choices. Smarter for your space. Smarter for the environment. Smarter for your wallet. At Reclaim & Restore Limited, we're not selling you a trend. We're helping you build a home that'll outlast whatever's fashionable next season.
